There was a lot of interest in the arthrofibrosis session at the Scandinavian Sports Medicine Congress 2025 in Copenhagen recently, with 700 attendees from 40 countries, the majority of whom were surgeons or physiotherapists. I began the session with a presentation about myofibroblasts and the pathology of arthrofibrosis, then Prof Stephanie Dakin presented her group’s research about resolving macrophages in shoulder arthrofibrosis (Frozen Shoulder). Sebastiano Nutarelli completing the session with his talk about physiotherapy approaches to arthrofibrosis treatment. There was a question-and-answer session at the end, and a lot of questions.
After the session we recorded a podcast with Dr Kristoffer Barfod and Nicolas Mathiesen. We hope to publish a transcript of this soon in the blogs.
