Hi all,
Brigitte here from the Netherlands, also struggling and searching for new treatment since operations etc. only worsened the AF during the last 4 years. I will follow the new developments closely on this site, but am also eager to engage and involve the right people in the medical field in the Netherlands. Especially since it seams that knowledge is still so poor that I find myself being the expert instead of the doctors en therapists. Any suggestions? Does anybody know if someone from the medical field in the Netherlands is already aligned with this platform? Take care. And thanks so much for all the acknowledgment and insights on AF!
PS: not everything during holidays in Italy is accessible with AF, but looking around and cappucino on a terrace is perfectly fine😅
Hi Brigitte, there is a new facebook group in the Netherlands called 'Artrofibrose Lotgenoten' that could benefit from your participation as well.
Hi Brigitte,
Thank you for your post and introduction! It's terrific that you want to help to bring about change and education. I believe that generating interest in the wider community may be a necessary first step so that arthrofibrosis comes to the attention of the medical community, there is proper training, and research is funded. Media coverage, by both social media and traditional media, will no doubt be important. There is currently nobody from the Netherlands medical community on the IAA board.
For others reading this who want to help, we have started a Change.org petition that you could sign and share if you like, please see https://www.change.org/p/urgent-call-to-action-for-comprehensive-arthrofibrosis-education-for-clinicians/dashboard?source_location=user_profile_started#petition-insights-title
When we reach 1000 signatures we’ll present the petition to politicians and medical bodies in an effort to bring change. Brigitte, if you would like to help us with presenting this when the time comes that would be terrific.
We would love to hear any ideas you have, and please let us know if the IAA can help you. Please feel free to post here and also to use the “Contact Us” form.
Enjoy your Italian holiday, it looks wonderful!!
Kayley
